About me:

I’m always creating huge makeup looks on myself, so having a good skincare routine is a must. My skin type is oily, acne prone skin. You’ll see I have a lot of scarring from when my acne was at its worst. But I’m glad now that it is just a lot of scars and I can control the occasional hormonal spot.

I focus a lot on removing all the makeup, so a double cleanse is a must. Followed by a product that helps to lift scars and prevent further breakouts. I also use a lot of moisturiser before I go to sleep so it can soak in overnight.

The makeup is really fun, and is a huge passion for me. But I always make sure I remove it properly, so after each look I feel fresh and know my skin feels cleansed.

Step 1:

I start with the first cleanser. I like this one because I can really loosen the tough makeup. I work at the makeup until I can see it is lifted and loose so it will simply wash away. It feels so refreshing to work the wax microbeads in and massage the makeup off. It makes my skin feel fresh and plump which makes the next step even more fulfilling.

Step 2:

Next, I use a second cleanser to remove any remaining makeup. When cleansing, I always sing the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” in my head because it takes just over a minute so I know I have cleansed for long enough! Haha! This product has a gentle antiseptic, and the peppermint feels amazing after refreshing my skin with the first cleanser. I use this one to ensure my face is thoroughly clean. I love the refreshed feeling after a heavy makeup look, so this one works a treat.

Step 3:

After removing the face wash with a muslin cloth, I apply the oil. You can see that I have a lot of scarring and I’m working on removing this over time. It sinks in quickly and it just gives me the comfort to know that it will help prevent future breakouts.

Step 4:

And cleanser? Neighbourhood Botanicals oil to milk, with arty packaging any bathroom would be proud of.
