Salt of the Earth deodorants work and play as hard as you do, protecting you effectively and invisibly, and this brand exists purely to deliver the best natural cosmetics and toiletries. Crystal deodorants work by leaving a thin layer of pure potassium alum, a traditional antibacterial mineral salt, on your skin. In 2001, Salt of the Earth founded Crystal Spring Labs, to champion its passion for product development. The labs will focus on creating innovative new products using the latest developments in natural ingredients. Product innovation is continuous in both packaging and formula with the aim of consistently improving.
Salt of the Earth story begins in 1993 when the company founder came across a crystal deodorant at a trade fair, and immediately saw the potential of the product. Salt of Earth's first offering, the Crystal Spring Natural Body Deodorant, was launched in the same year and was joined by the Travel and Spray variety in 2005. In 2008 Crystal Spring had a major rebrand, over seen by the UK Design Council, which saw its deodorant products rebranded as 'Salt of the Earth' and a detox range as 'Detoxology'. The rebrand has been very successful, and is used by the UK design Council as a case study.
. These crystal deodorants are 100% natural and free from aluminium cholorohydrate, parabens, alcohol, petrochemicals, SLS/SLES, perfumes, and propellants. Alum has been used as a natural deodorant for hundreds of years. It inhibits the growth of bacteria that causes body odour, without blocking your pores. Plus it does not make white marks, like conventional deodorants and antiperspirants. Recent innovations have included the Travel Spray packaging and the addition of Honeysuckle Extract (a new and exciting natural antibacterial preservative) to the Spray deodorants.
