"Skincare should be a simple yet profoundly nurturing ritual - a unique and beautiful experience". MV offers organic sophistication at it's very best. Around the world, devotees will accept nothing less. MV is passionately committed to you and your health, to authentic organic ingredients and to setting and maintaining impeccable standards in the development and manufacture of high integrity skincare.
In the mid 90s, Sharon began her years of research into cosmetic ingredients and the possible toxic effects on the skin and the body, which inspired her to create MV Skincare and to share her knowledge. Sharon’s goal was to develop skincare which would have a positive impact on general health as well as the health of the skin. As a holistic skin therapist, she has performed thousands of facials and treated hundreds of people with sensitive and reactive skins. When new clients swap their commercial skincare for MV she can see the impressive results for herself. She has also come to understand the powerful healing, strengthening and energising properties of organic ingredients and, over time, succeeded in developing precise and highly-effective formulations. The cornerstones of MV are quality and concentration and Sharon takes extreme pride in her craft. She personally chooses every ingredient for its quality, aroma and purity and her ‘no compromise’ policy means that no product is bottled until she has given final approval. Over the past ten years Sharon embarked on the process of certification with both Australian Certified Organic and the UK based Soil Association. After spending hundreds of hours on research, verifying documentation and meeting manufacturing requirements she realised that certification would result in a compromise of both quality and efficacy. These beliefs formed the basis for a self-imposed standard that has earned Sharon the respect of many in the skincare and beauty industry.
MV adheres to some of the strictest guidelines worldwide for organic skincare certification and, in addition to this, includes the following guidelines to maintain quality, concentration, purity and efficacy: MV is free from all the ‘nasties’ including petrochemicals and Synthetic parabens. MV chooses not to inflate organic content with aloe vera gel as efficacy is the primary aim. MV specialises in treating sensitive skin conditions so include fewer ingredients but in higher concentrations; this minimises the possibility of reactions and maximises efficacy. MV does not include alcohol (aka ethanol) either as a preservative or base for herbal extracts as it renders products unsuitable for truly sensitive skin. MV loves organic ingredients so much it has developed a unique manufacturing process that retains the valuable nutrients of these precious plant oils and essential oils. MV includes both organic and non-organic essential oils with the selection criteria based on authenticity and quality. MV will not choose organic over non-organic where an ingredient displays uncharacteristic aroma or is accompanied by a dubious certificate of authenticity. Sharon says: “The natural and organic skincare industry has seen a return to the use of therapeutic grade essential oils by smaller niche companies in an effort to achieve more consistent aromas and access the purest unadulterated oils with the highest possible medicinal properties”.
