Whilst bottles and boxes and packets can certainly be attractive, the less attractive side is that they can end up contributing to land fill. Sukin uses recyclable packaging, and ensures that packaging is kept to a minimum where possible. As a 100% vegan brand and cruelty free, Sukin is committed to creating products that are free from animal testing, animal derivatives, and animal by-products. Sukin source only the best ingredients, including cold-pressed, solvent free oils, which are of the highest grade, maximising effectiveness and ensuring the purity of their products.

The Story

Sukin was launched in 2007 by a Melbourne based family on a mission to provide high quality, affordable and effective natural skin and hair care. After identifying a gap in the market for attractive, high efficacy and affordable natural skincare, founders Simon and Alison, along with their father Peter, left their full time jobs to begin the Sukin brand. Launching a skincare brand in a very cluttered and competitive market forced the trio to wear multiple hats, and adopt a firm brand positioning from the start. “Skincare that doesn’t cost the earth” is their tagline which reflects their affordable price positioning and also touches on Sukin’s natural formulations and earth friendly brand ethos. Today, Sukin are Australia’s best selling natural skin care brand, with a portfolio of lines extending over more than 60 products across face, body and hair, and continuing to grow year on year. Sukin’s skincare is still Australian made and owned, and is run by a dedicated young team, focused on remaining close to the ground and providing customers with the best natural skincare on the market.They have now expanded their international reach to over 10 countries across the globe.

The Ingredients

Sukin's commitment to natural began with a simple list of what should never be found in your skincare. Sukin products therefore do not contain a myriad of harsh chemicals used in many products on the market today including sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate, synthetic fragrances, animal derivatives, harsh detergents, propylene glycol, artificial colours, triethanolamine, mineral oils, EDTA or parabens. Instead, Sukin products are formulated with high efficacy, high quality botanical extracts and essential oils. Sukin’s ‘no nasties’ approach helps to keep both your body and the environment healthy, with grey-water safe formulations, so you can feel confident that what you are using is not going to damage any rivers, animals and plant life once it heads down the drain. Using plant-based ingredients, Sukin formulations are also biodegradable, avoiding build up and contamination in waterways. Sukin’s face and body scrubs are free from micro plastic beads, and employ only the best natural and biodegradable exfoliants. They choose tried, tested and trusted ingredients for their products, and always use themselves as a trial panel before a product goes to market.
