Acquarella strives to make the best quality water based nail technology available, with all of the Acquarella Water Color products being proudly made in Tucson, Arizona U.S.A. to exacting standards. Their hands-on approach gives them complete control over production from beginning to end and ensures quality and integrity at every step. Acquarella's finished products are never tested on animals, nor do they contain any animal products or by-products, with the company being recognised by PETA for this commitment. Their vegan and virtually odourless nail polishes come in an array of colours that deliver long lasting colour and shine to the nails without the need for a base or top coat.
Acquarella was started about thirteen years ago by a dedicated team of scientists, engineers, beauty and natural products industry professionals who all shared a simple goal of "nothingness". This goal was derived from the sound philosophy that "sometimes less is more and sometimes nothing gets you everything". With conventional nail polishes being originally derived from automotive paint in the early twentieth century, Acquarella wanted to create a fantastic way of colouring nails without all the toxic chemicals, logistic problems, and time constraints of a conventional nail polish. By creating a nail polish with nothing bad, they ended up creating life changing possibilities.
Acquarella is a clean slate. With water as the solvent and an engineered safe co-polymer structure, they have nothing in common with the legacy that is conventional nail polish. Their polishes are virtually odourless, dry quickly, have excellent shine and wear, without a base or top coat and can be removed with a fully plant based remover. Acquarella polishes are free from Toulene, DBP, Formaldehyde, petrochemical solvents and are non flammable. They do not give off any noxious fumes and are not considered hazardous material, unlike conventional nail polishes. Acquarella's water based formulas are breathable and therefore do not cause any yellowing and discolouration that is associated with conventional products.
