Do you want to glow from the inside out, but cannot always commit to applying layers of skincare products? The journey to a glowing complexion can be an easy process, but there are so many tips and tricks floating around, where do you start? We've selected our favourites, and ones we swear by, below to get you on the path to glowing, healthy looking skin. Skincare - Exfoliators and Serums. There are realms of beauty tips out there when it comes to suggesting the perfect skin care regime for glowing skin; cleanse, moisturise, exfoliate, face oils and serums etc. Only you know your skin and when it feels its best, but we suggest starting here! Exfoliate - If your skin is looking ashy or dull, then this may be caused by a layer of dead skin sitting on top off all your fresh looking skin preventing the cells from reflecting light. Not only does this make you look older, but it also blocks and enlarges the pores. Exfoliating a few times a week lifts off the dead skin cells to reveal the healthy skin underneath, but be careful not to over scrub! Try the Estelle & Thild BioCleanse Radiance Micro Polish 1-2 times a week, this gentle facial polish uses micro crystals to gently lift away skin cells, whilst stimulating the circulation in your skin to prevent fine lines appearing. Start using a serum - Serums are much more concentrated than a cream or a lotion, so you only need a small amount daily to see lasting results. They are formulated to increase the firmness, smooth fine lines and to illuminate your skin. The Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Revitalise & Glow Serum is a beautifully light serum made with 100% pure botanicals including Baobab which is rich in precious Omega 3, 6 & 9 to revitalise and sooth dull & dehydrated skin. The Odacite Radiant Glow Collection combines two radiant serums containing wild carrot, green tea and lemon grass to lift tired complexions. Stay hydrated and drink up. Dehydration is one of the leading causes of dullness, and there is nothing radiant or glowing about dull looking skin! One of the easiest ways to ensure your skin is healthy, is to treat it right and drink plenty of water. The more water you drink, the more toxins you will flush out which can be a big cause of breakouts and inflammation. You can also increase the elasticity in your skin and help to keep it soft and supple by drinking water every single day. The recommended daily dose of H2O is 8 glasses or roughly 2 litres. You can make this easier on yourself by getting either a bkr Water bottle 500ml and keep topping up, or the larger 1 litre bkr Water Bottles 1L. banner_02Jun16_1 Wash your make-up brushes. We know, cleaning your make up brushes is one of those mundane beauty tasks that often gets over looked. It is however, one of the most important things we should be doing! Makeup brushes are a breeding ground for bacteria, and when you swipe this across your face every day you then transfer the bacteria onto your skin, blocking pores and spreading dirt which you repeat day after day. You should be washing your brushes at least once a week, set aside an evening to commiting to clean your tools and stick to it. Sunday is usually a good day for this, but bare in mind some more compact brushes, such as the Bellapierre Kabuki Brush, may take a few days to dry, so get a back up to be safe. The Dr Bronner Liquid Soaps come in a range of delicious scents, and are the perfect all natural multi-purpose soap to wash away the caked on makeup and germs. Using a high SPF sunscreen We've all heard it before, but layering up the sunscreen is the simplest way to keep your skin looking and feeling good. We are exposed to sunrays each and every day, whether it's winter or summer. Wearing sun screen daily can help prevent developing skin issues such as premature ageing, age spots or wrinkles and can lower the risk of skin cancers. Shield your skin from the rays and keep your skin looking healthy and radiant by using a high factor facial sunscreen such as Green People Scent Free Facial Sun Cream SPF30. There are also plenty of other options which offer SPF protection which work wonders as a base to apply makeup onto such as the Ilia Radiant Beauty Balm SPF20, which is a light diffusing fluid that creates a perfectly luminous base for glowing skin. Rest & relax We like to believe there is a strong truth behind the term 'beauty sleep'. When we sleep our body goes into repair mode, and if we are lacking in the recommended 8 hours rest every night, in the morning we can be presented with puffy eyes and a dull, washed out complexion. Sleep is a complex thing, and you may find something helps you relax that doesn't work on the next person. Here are a few tips to help you nod off in the evening and wake up having taken full advantage of your beauty sleep!
  • Try and go to bed at the same time each night, and wake up at the same time - get into a routine.
  • Skip the caffeine late in the day, try something herbal instead such as Pukka or TeaTox.
  • Relax before getting into bed, take a bath and get your body ready from tip to toe for a perfect night sleep. Have a soak in Kiss the Moon Dream After Dark Bath Oil, featuring a generous helping of French Lavender Oil, known as nature's sedative.
  • Spritz your pillow before you go to bed with a natural sleep aid. Try the best-selling This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray which calms the nerves and relieves stress and get a good nights sleep, and feel less tired in the morning.
banner_02Jun16_2 A little highlighting help A natural glow may come from within, but sometimes its okay to get a hand once in a while from the beauty world. An all natural highlighter creates an instant luminous, radiant look and comes in a variety of formulas. Using either a cream, powder or fluid highlighter you can accentuate your features which catch the light such as the cheeks, brows and collar bones as well as down the bridge of your nose and on your cupids bow. Cream compact option - If your skin is normal or dry try the perfectly smooth Kjaer Weis Radiance Highlighter to enhance your skin and provide a youthful glow (shown above). Powder option - For oily complexions, brighten your skin by lightly sweeping on the 100% natural Alima Pure Highlighter to the high points of your face. Fluid option - The Inika Light Reflect Creme Eyeshadow can also be used to highlight and refine the cheek and brow bones. You can try one or all of these, we would love to hear your tips too on how to glow!
